Who we are

AI Academy Launch is run by Capytech UK Ltd (company number 17157950), registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. We are the data controller for the information described here. ICO registration number: ZC273123.

The short version

We collect as little as we can. A parent's email and password, a family name, and a nickname for each person on the voyage.
Children never give us their name, email, age, school, photo or anything they type. They don't type anything at all.
No ads, no third party trackers, no selling or sharing data for marketing, no profiling.
Only your family can see your family. There is no chat and no contact between families.
You can download or delete everything at any time from "Our family".

We never collect your child's real name, date of birth, school, location, photos, voice or free text.

Payments

Payments are handled by Revolut Bank UK Ltd. We never see or store card details. Revolut is a separate controller for payment information and has its own privacy notice.

Cookies

We use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in, and one essential cookie that remembers your family code on a child's device. We use no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

Emails

If "weekly email" is switched on, we send parents one short summary a week of what the family finished. You can switch it off in "Our family". We never email children.

Who else handles your data

Amazon Web Services (London region), to host the service and store its data in the UK
Amazon Simple Email Service (London region), to send account and weekly emails
Revolut, for payments

Each works under a written contract and only on our instructions. Your family's data is stored in the UK. [Legal review: confirm AWS and Revolut transfer wording.]

How long we keep it

Account and progress: while your account is open. If an account has no activity for 24 months we will email you, then delete it 30 days later.
When you delete your account: everything is deleted straight away, apart from payment records, which we must keep for 6 years for tax purposes.
Security logs: up to 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your family's data, object to how we use it, or restrict it. Most of this you can do yourself in "Our family". Otherwise email contact@capytech.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).

Children

AI Academy Launch is for families with children aged 12 to 16. A parent or carer aged 18 or over creates the account, adds the children and stays in control. We design it to the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code): high privacy by default, no nudges to keep children playing, no profiling and no sharing. Young people have their own short version of this notice.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
